The Vision & Purpose

Education | Heritage | Service

Impact Beyond Borders works toward transformational and dignified development of the Lao people by focusing on education, heritage, and service opportunities.

MISSION STATEMENT

Sabaidee!

Impact Beyond Borders is a grassroots vision to establish a transformational and dignified development work with nationals and expatriates living in Laos and the Lao diaspora worldwide. With almost 7 million in population, Laos, a landlocked country in Southeast Asia, was ranked in 2010 as the poorest country in the region with a poverty rate of 38.1%.

Today, Laos continues to be a nation with great physical and social needs as the poor increasingly become more vulnerable due to rampant globalization. The region’s open market in the early 1990s reveals its affect on the nation’s poor daily. Fortunately, the Lao people constantly prove to the evolving world that they are one of the most resilient people groups, full of simplicity and grace.

Impact Beyond Borders has a vision, with thoughtful exploration and strategic approaches of Lao PDR’s education, heritage, and service opportunities.

As a native Lao-born escapee to Thailand, a refugee, and immigrant to the United States, I dream to return and work in my homeland Lao PDR as a diaspora returnee for a better Lao PDR. I believe a better Lao PDR is possible for all Lao people.

The ultimate purpose, is to establish a 501(c)3 non-profit organization called Impact Beyond Borders while in collaboration alongside nationals and international NGOs. I invite you to join the IMPACT movement of dreaming and envisioning transformational work in Lao PDR with your support and partnership! Impact Beyond Impact is working together for a better Lao People's Democratic Republic!
