EDUCATION

A human right is to have access to quality education worldwide.

Quality education in Lao PDR continues to be a vital human rights challenge for boys and girls, especially those in remote rural areas limiting their access to learning. Primary education up to the fifth grade is compulsory for Lao children, yet high fees, learning materials, and scarcity of teachers in rural regions prevent many learners from attending and remaining in school. Though Laos has a high regard for education and wants to improve, the government spends very little on education.

Education development is key for sustainable and transformational development. Learning inside and outside the classroom will be a key component to build the future of Laos.

Impact Beyond Borders believes that every boy, girl, and adult should have access to a quality education.
