Chiraphone Khamphouvong

Impact Beyond Borders, Visionary Developer & Founder

Chiraphone Khamphouvong is passionate about justice for people, holistic sustainable development, and strives for excellence as a lifelong learner and educator across the globe. She has served in various highlighted leadership roles, with her most recent as the Director of Partnerships and Resource Development with World Relief in Cambodia, Director of World Missions at Azusa Pacific University, and a Recruiter and a Volunteer in South Africa with U.S. Peace Corps. 

Born in Lao PDR to a Buddhist family of twelve, the family escaped to a Thailand refugee camp in 1980 due to the secret war. In 1982, World Relief and the Wells Family from Castleford, Idaho along with a collective support of a local Baptist Church sponsored her family to resettle in the U.S. At the age of 15, Chiraphone crossed the spiritual line by committing her life for Christ. In her various roles, Chiraphone has collaborated holistic work in 38+ countries, meeting the physical and social needs of the human family worldwide.

Thirty-eight years after her family’s escape and exile and 20 years of serving others in 38 countries worldwide, Chiraphone is being led to return to her birth land to serve among her people! She has a dream and a vision to serve alongside Lao nationals and development workers to research strategic opportunities in three areas: education, heritage, and service. Chiraphone has a passion to promote transformational development and the Lao diaspora movement, the returning of Lao decedents for homeland experiences for Lao descendants. Chiraphone is ecstatic to bring a life perspective of an escapee, a refugee, a resettled immigrant, and now as a refugee returnee with the birth of Impact Beyond Borders for a better nation for all who loves Pathet Lao!
